Growing up, my parents constantly reminded me of the importance of giving back to others. Therefore, a good portion
of my life invovled doing community service work such as volunteering at the Houston FoodBank
and Second Mile Mission Center with my friends. (View Picture for Reference).
In regards to the community service, I always tried to help out my community the best way I could. Whether there may be a
natural disaster that hit our area or donating food, my parents have always taught me the significance of giving back
to other people. Throughout high school, I spent the majority of my volunteer time at Clements Interact, a non-profit organization
created to help the community that I grew up in. Participating in all these volunteering events are a major reason why I am the person I am today. In the future, I hope that I can
continue to give back to my community, family, and friends, just like how they helped guide me through the ropes of life.
Furthermore, I also spent a lot of my time in high school coaching recreational basketball teams for younger kids. Basically, I would
help the head coach and the recreational league organize Zoom meetings for basketball camp enrollment, raise money for fundraising events, and
helped the kids learn basketball and have fun. It was always fun work. As someone who grew up playing basketball, it was great to see
other kids learn how to play the game and have fun, just like I did with the sport back then. My experience as a head coach taught me the importance
of being able to be a role model and developed my communication skills.
